Does anyone remember then mae of this TV series from the 90's?

I was really young back in 1999 I believe it was and there was this really good TV series that just came on, I remember it was survivors that went down in a plane I think in a Jungle/Island and were living among the local tribe it was a dark show, the show would come on before baywatch hawaii and relic hunter. I just cant remember the name of the show! it was really good, it was like Lost.
